About us
Filaha Flock is an Algerian company born in the field, in Biskra. The project did not start with a technology looking for a use; it started with a question put to farmers: what actually makes you lose birds?
The answer always came back to the same thing. Danger — heat, ammonia, CO₂, a power cut — arrives without a sound, usually at night, and is discovered in the morning. Nobody lacks the will; what is missing is a warning at the moment it can still change the outcome.
So we built exactly that: a box that breathes the same air as the birds, and that telephones the farmer when something starts going wrong. Without internet, because the farms that need it most do not have any.
What we hold to
Act, don't just display
A reading that alerts nobody has never saved a flock. The system calls.
Be understood
Arabic first. A message the farmer has to decode is a message that failed.
Say what is true
What we know, we show with its source. What we have not done yet, we say so.
We went and asked the farmers
Our field surveyBefore writing a line of code we interviewed thirteen Algerian poultry farmers about what actually costs them birds. This is what they told us.
have already lost birds to disease in their own houses.
still monitor entirely by hand — a notebook and a walk-through.
suffer power cuts that put the ventilation at risk.
want a simple tool that warns them before it is too late.

What a missed alert actually costs
A commercial flock of 5,000–10,000 birds is worth 3 to 5 million dinars at maturity. One night without ventilation can take a large share of it before sunrise.
