Ammonia: the silent killer in the coop
Ammonia is a toxic gas from wet litter. At 20 ppm lungs are already damaged though you smell nothing standing up. Crouch to bird level: if your eyes sting, it's dangerous.
Fixes: replace wet litter, raise ventilation, lower density, and monitor continuously. Filaha Flock warns you before damage is done.
At night, danger gives no warning. Filaha Flock does.
